If you find a bird and/or band, you should contact the U.S. Geological Survey Patuxant Wildlife Research Center. The preferred method of reporting bird bands is to call 1-800-327-BAND (2263) from anywhere in Canada, the United States, and most parts of the Caribbean. The operator will need to know the band number and how, when, and where the bird or band was found.

Bird Hotlines are a good way to get involved in birding, but did you know that you can also help injured birds?
